So how about planting a shoe for Mom this Mother's Day? You can at Texas Discovery Gardens. To be clear, you're not burying a shoe. That would be ridiculous. No, they want you to bring a shoe they can help turn into a potted plant. Because nothing says, "I love you, Mom" like a shoeful of dirt. Plant a Shoe for Mom 10 a.m. Saturday at Texas Discovery Gardens Main Hall, 3601 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. There is a $10 fee per participant. Call 214-428-7476 or visit texasdiscoverygardens.org.
