What better than a mother-daughter team to nurture and support local artists? ART is ART, the family-run East Dallas consignment store/local art depot that moved last year from its smaller digs on Oram to a bigger and better home on Henderson Avenue, is now celebrating its first anniversary in the new location. (But what is really worth celebrating is the selection of original modern art and vintage décor at amazingly reasonable prices.) From 8 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, the storefront will offer up not only its unusual treasure trove but also live music from guitarist Griffin Schmucker and celebratory refreshments while supplies last. Wish a happy anniversary to ART is ART, located at 2811 N. Henderson Ave. Regular store hours are 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Call 214-823-8222 or visit artisart.biz (a photo gallery of available wares is located at pigmentandpixels.com/artisart).
