12 photogs crowd the Magnolia
Published on September 18, 2008 at 12:42am
I'm a little confused. Take 12 photographers, have them submit "13 identical, archival, photographic prints from one single image," share the first dozen with the other photographers, hang up the final one and that's the Dallas Portfolio Exchange? I think with a little more tweaking and drama, this could be a reality show...and something far better than VH1's The Shot. Until DPE starter David Lyles figures it out, we'll take it as-is and look for the drama in the pics themselves, taken by photographers Stewart Cohen, Elena Cone, Max Helfman, Scott Jenke, Lorie Leigh Lawrence, David Lyles, Scogin Mayo, Nancy Newberry, Eric Pearle, Daniel Piassick, Ken Smith and Greg Stephens. Now in its seventh year, the Dallas Portfolio Exchange will exhibit its annual show at the Magnolia Gallery in the Magnolia Theater, 3699 McKinney Ave., through October 14. Call 214-764-9106.
